More on Special Ministries:
St.
Anthony of Padua Province is blessed with creative and energetic friars
who are involved in many specialized ministries. Their efforts contribute
an inestimable amount of good to the local Church in which they live and
work and to the wider community.
These
ministries include the Franciscan Center in Buffalo, NY which provides
runaway boys with a safe place to stay while they deal with the circumstances
of their lives, and Campus Ministry at many universities, including The Catholic University of America
in Washington D.C., where the friars minister to college age students
who are searching for spiritual fulfillment as they pursue their educational
goals. There are also a number of friars serving as chaplains in health care and military facilities.
There are three
more special ministries served by and for the St. Anthony of Padua Province.
The Shrine of St. Anthony is located in Ellicott City, Maryland, and sits on a beautiful and historical property left to the friars by the family of Charles Carroll.
The Companions of
St. Anthony, is located on the grounds of the Shrine and serves to support the work of the friars as a developement office, as well as with communication and evangelization, on behalf of the province.
The Father Justin Rosary Hour radio program, is the largest Polish
radio program in North America, and is headquartered in Athol Springs, NY.
These ministries reach out to people through various means to evangelize
and to accompany people on their spiritual journeys.
