Special Ministries
St.
Anthony of Padua Province is blessed with creative and energetic friars
who are involved in many specialized ministries. Their efforts contribute
an inestimable amount of good to the local Church in which they live and
work and to the wider community.
These
ministries include the Franciscan Center in Buffalo, NY which provides
runaway boys with a safe place to stay while they deal with the circumstances
of their lives, and Campus Ministry at The Catholic University of America
in Washington D.C., where the friars minister to college age students
who are searching for spiritual fulfillment as they pursue their educational
goals. They also include AIDS ministry in the Springfield, MA Diocese
and a number of chaplaincies in health care facilities.
Two
major ministries of St. Anthony of Padua Province are the Companions of
St. Anthony located at the Shrine of St. Anthony in Ellicott City,
MD and the Father Justin Rosary Hour radio program, the largest Polish
radio program in North America, headquartered in Athol Springs, NY. Both
of these ministries reach out to people through various means to evangelize
and to accompany people on their spiritual journeys.
