Early biographers of St. Francis of Assisi characterized him as a man in love with God, with life and with his fellow human beings. A compassionate man, he sought to alleviate the suffering of those around him. He had a special love for lepers and for the poor for whome he cared with humility and love, exhorting his followers to do the same.

In the spirit of their founder, Franciscans are called to live in community, to be men and women of prayer, and to minister to the People of God. Throughout its almost eight hundred year history, the Franciscan Order has continued to generously respond to the Church's call to minister to the poor and to all those in need.

You Can Help: There are several ways the friars and their ministries raise funds to support their work and outreach.

The Companions of St. Anthony
solicits donations for specific needs such as the education and formation of friars, and also serves as an entrée for Evangelization. In addition to this Province wide effort, each of the individual Ministries use different means of raising funds, such as Golf Outings, Dinners and Auctions. Several sell Religious Goods, Reading and Educational Materials. If you are looking for the perfect gift for a graduation, wedding, birthday, Confirmation or 1st Eucharist, these sources are a great place to start.
The Franciscan Education Burse financially assists the education portion of formation for our friars. Each burse comes with a commitment to build up to a $5,000 value and can be made by parishes, individuals, families, groups or organizations, as established in memorial, celebration or thanksgiving. Please consider contributing to an already established burse, create a new one or leave one as your legacy.
The Shrine of St. Anthony, located in Ellicott City, MD has an extensive gift shop, full of items that will fit most every Religious Goods need, including a collection of Franciscan items and literature. If you do not live close by, give them a call and they may be able to send you a gift that is sure to please.
Fr. Justin Rosary Hour Ministry offeres prayer books, inspirational literature, CD's and DVD's available through a printable order form online that can be mailed with your check and order.
St. Lucie Catholic Church
, in Port St. Lucie, FL, posts photos of items available in their gift shop. Stop by if you are in the area or give them a call if something catches your eye.

St. Francis High School Annual Giving Appeal was initiated in 1990 so that alumni, parents, friends and alumni parents of St. Francis High School could demonstrate their mutual support for the continued growth of the institution. The unrestricted gifts secured through this endeavor give St. Francis High School the flexibility to address its most immediate needs and positively impact its most important asset, its students.
Archbishop Curley High School Annual Fund contributions go directly to the operating budget of the school and benefit the young men attending Archbishop Curley. Your gift will have a profound impact on the life and education of each individual student.

We also encourage you to please visit the other Education Ministries to see how you can help fund the needs of Catholic Elementary School Education throughout our Province.
