St. Edward School Pledge: "I pledge to follow the mission of St. Edward School; to work hard in school, to be responsible and respectful, and to be a good example to others. Everyday, with the help of my teachers and our Franciscan priests, I will practice the values of forgiveness, love and kindness taught by Jesus."

More on Franciscan Education:
St. Anthony of Padua was a contemporary of St. Francis and one of his followers. He was also a priest and a scholar. Renowned for his preaching and for his theological depth, he was given permission by St. Francis to teach theology to the younger friars. Throughout its long history education has been an important part of the Franciscan Order.

The Province of St. Anthony of Padua has a strong tradition in education ministry. At one time the Province operated its own College-Seminary and administered and taught in no fewer than seven high schools.Today the Province is responsible for administration of its own high school in Athol Springs, NY (St. Francis High School) and an Archdiocesan high school in Baltimore, MD (Archbishop Curley High School).A number of friars are involved in higher education serving as administrators and teachers at various seminaries and colleges. We also have friars serving as instructors and administrators at St. Mary's Seminary and University, in Roland Park, Maryland and at the International Seraphic College (The Seraphicum) in Rome. Others are involved in the education and training of the laity for ministry in the Church.

Through these educational endeavors, the friars of St. Anthony Province seek to assist young people and adults in developing their intellectual abilities, while at the same time sharing with them the spiritual tradition of the Franciscan Order.
